That is really strange.  I think you should try asking SourceForge 
tech support about it -- I've found them to be very responsive and 
helpful in the past.

I think it'd be better to pursue the DNS/SourceForge approach a bit 
further first, though this is a reasonable fall-back plan if all else 
fails.
