I?ve added DES-based encryption to the password section of the database. This means that those testing Blackbeard?s Revenge will need to recreate their characters.
Other additions include new images, a bury treasure feature (bank), and a few more features to the inn/tavern. The chat line should also work now.
I?ve released the proof of concept files as an official release. You can download the entire package and install it on your server if you would like. Chances are the modules/filesnames will change when I add features, so stay tuned to the sourceforge page for more information.
Work continues on Blackbeard's Revenge, including the addition of some MySQL features. Characters can now be stored and reused. I'm working on making the db functions globally accessible from all modules so updating character stats is quick and easy.
I've also opted to store player's ship's individually from their characters. This will allow for ships to be traded (or stolen) in a future release of BBR.
To check out the new graphical style, go to http://blackbeard.voyageurperdu.com/ and run either the combat or character module.
As always, your feedback is welcome and appreciated.
The phase I and phase II design documents have been updated. Notable additions include the primary ship and play progression table. These documents will remain open to changes until development begins.
To access these documents go to the project main page and select "docs".
