Hi, I did a search of the forum and all the documentation I can find but it seems that nobody has asked this question yet. Is there any support for loading libraries from other programs, like LogicWorks, for example, or a workaround? I am required to use symbols defined in a CLF library given to me by my professor, but I would much rather use Qucs. Sincerely, -Trevor |

Hello, i'am now using qucs frequently since about 1,5years and i am extremly glad to have it. i seldom found software to be as much as stable as it is the case with qucs (and i compiles on every machine). Please find some personal experience and open issues concerning the simulation behaviour: 1.) Transientsimulation: i had lots of convergence trouble for a very long time especially when simulating chopped coils- and rectifiers circuits additionally employing some feedback loops. if we take a look at the mailing list archive this happens rather often and is their often called as the jacobian singular - "error". however there are a lots of parameters in transientsimulation to adjust the solver behaviour. i spent a lot of time with try and error and found a transient simulation adjustment which fits my personal requirements to simulate high voltage switched coils and recitfier circuits. Since that i do not have any problem any more. Unfortunately the adjustment is far away from the "defaults": 10000pts/ms Order=3 reltol=0.001 abstol=10uA vntol=10mV LTEreltol=1e-4 LTEabstol=1e-7 relaxTSR=yes especially LTEreltol and abstol seems to have a big impact on the convergence. but what am i doing here and what about the impacts on the simulation accuracy? my primary question is: do we have a detailed description of the parameters somewhere? 2.) DC - Inital analysis "failed": There is a second very simple example circuit with one feedback loop. i was not able to get a parameter set to get it working. the only possibilty is to set R6 from 30 to 40kOhm (find the sch attached). what can we do in such a case? is there maybe a "experience matrix" with the adjustments? The "wrong dependency" table entry is due to the fact that you mixed up variables in a single tabular diagram with different dependencies. Hello qucs-team, I have got a problem with the parameter sweep: it just doesn't work because it just doesn't change anything. I've downloaded the dcstatic.pdf and built the given example. In the attachment, you can find screenshots and the qucs-file with the example. As you can see the current in the Ampere-meter stays the same, although the dc-source is varied from 0V to 1V in 20 steps. With the one ohm resistance, the current should go from 0A to 1A. Hallo Qucs-Team, erst mal Danke für die tolle Arbeit, die ihr geleistet habt! Qucs ist wirklich schön. Allerdings habe ich ein Problem: Ich habe die Datei dcstatic.pdf heruntergeladen und danach versucht, einen Parameterdurchlauf zu simulieren. Das Beispiel der Diode (pdf-Seite 4 "When things vary") habe ich nachgebaut. Es hat nicht geklappt. Dieses Beispiel habe ich noch vereinfacht (siehe Screenshot qucs_circuit.png im Anhang sowie .sch-Datei). Irgendetwas scheine ich falsch zu machen, denn der Parameter will einfach nicht variieren (siehe Screenshot qucs_simulation_result.png). Auf zwei Computern habe ich dies getestet(beides mal Windows XP, Details über Versionen siehe Screenshot). Wäre für einen Hinweis sehr dankbar! Mit freundlichem Gruß Jörg Reuner |

dear mailing list readers, i am sorry for being such ignorant. as my mail is filtered here i didn't realize how much these mailing lists have been assassinated by spam. these days i started to clean up our archives (excluded around 800 mails) at sourceforge. also the mailing lists are now moderated for non-members. david from london volunteered to do that. thanks a lot in advance! hope it's getting better now, stefan. ps: please tell if I missed some spam in the archives... |
