Hello, first of all thank you to everyone that has helped to create this nifty little application. I stumbled upon this application while looking for a circuit simulator that works well and doesn't feel ancient. (i.e. LT-Spice) After playing around with it i thought that the main things giving qucs a bit of an outdated feeling are the current icons and drawing symbols (and their previews). The icons in particular don't fit in with current desktop designs. The drawing symbols are, in some cases not really clear or just outdated and not very common anymore or simply don't adhere to the existing IEC standards. I started to create some new symbols and icons, you can have a look at them here: https://frhun.de/qucs-icon/preview/ For the application logo i went with a design loosely adhering to the GNOME icon guidelines. Can someone please explain what its actually supposed to mean? I interpreted it as traces on a substrate. So, please take a look at my designs and share your thoughts. (Specifically on what you think about maybe adopting more of the standard IEC 60617 symbols) I would love to incorporate them once the port to qt5 is done. (i don't really have the experience to help with the port itself sadly) I wont have time to work on this until the end of august, but until then everyone can hopefully use the time to give some input on what you think about design changes. Best regards, Friedrich |
