Will Qucs 0.0.20 for Windows ever be released? I've been using a preliminary version of Qucs 0.0.20 for close to 2 years. Subsequent releases of Qucs 0.0.20 don't work in Windows so I can only use the older version.

There has not been any recent activity in Qucs-0.0.20. For now, you may consider the second release candidate the final. If it does not work on your platform, you could describe the issue -- somebody might still be able to help.

I am unsure what release of Qucs 0.0.20 I have but the "About Qucs" shows e65038031.

I used to get the the releases from Appveyor but nothing is listed anymore. The problem I had with the "last" Qucs 0.0.20 Windows release a year ago was distorted graphics. Schematics were random lines. I reverted back to an older 0.0.20 release. I posted my complaint on Tue May 19, 2020 01:15 PM in the Help area.

Can you post the second 0.0.20 Win 32 and Win 64 release somewhere?

    Tom

Are the Windows 64b binaries for QUCS 0.0.20 RC2 available?

Anyone have a link to the QUCS 0.0.20 RC2 Windows files?

I haven't been able to find a link for RC2 Windows binaries. I'm also unable to build from source on Windows due to this issue. The problem is that qt4 has been removed from the MSYS2 repo.

    I have two files.

    qucs-0.0.20-rc2.zip

    qucs-0.0.20-rc2.tar.gz

I can send them to you.

Hi Tom -- That's OK, I'm using a Linux build, but thanks for the offer!

These are the source files NOT the Windows build. I have multiple qucs-0.0.20 Windows builds but I wanted the "latest" one. For a while, the Windows build had graphics problems so I reverted to a much older qucs-0.0.20 build.

One issue is that there were so many "nightly" releases I cannot say what ones I grabbed.

    standard qt4 mingw problem
at the moment under msys mingw it is impossible to build qt4 from sources
    respectively qucs too

please tell me if a hack is possible,
if you install qt4 on winows from the .exe file
and write the paths to bin and the rest in mingw

    thank you in advance

Hello, any news? Someone was able to compile Qucs 0.0.20 for Windows?

    Hi
I'm sorry that I don't have the skills to help compile Windows binaries - I would just like to add my voice to your request for them to be released on the Qucs project page.

I don't need a lot of the recent additions so I'm currently using 0.0.16, the last Windows release that prints correctly scaled free text. I've checked Qucs-S 0.0.24 as well, but this also prints free text that is far too large.

Perhaps, if a Windows binary were available, this problem would be fixed.

    Good luck
    Brian

Hi. One year later, any news regarding Qucs 0.0.20 for Windows? Is this project still alive?

I've been using Qucs-S instead. It has come a long way in the last few years and allows using manufacturer Spice models. Qucs-S now does S-parameter analysis and supports S-parameter files.

Qucs 0.0.20 won't do Verilog-A due to a bug but Qucs 0.0.19 does.

Qucs 0.0.20 has never been released. The problem is, that it depends on
Qt3. So, it is hard to build and harder to distribute. Last time I
      looked, Qucs-S maintained a Qt3 copy/fork/wrapper. I tried, and it
didn't seem to just work with Qucs..

Verilog-A in Qucs has not been finished. But we'll need the structure,
especially, as soon as Verilog-AMS is ready. You may consider Qucs a
dead project, but it's not clear if a rewrite from scratch will make
      things any easier or better.

Feel free to give it a go.

      Best wishes
      felix

Consider switching to Qucs-S. It was recently ported to Qt6 and released for all modern platform. I have added a 64-bit Windows installer recently. Qucs-S uses Ngspice as the default simulation kernlel. Since v2.0.0 it supports quick simulator switching if you still need to use Qucsator. Get the latest release here: https://github.com/ra3xdh/qucs_s/releases/tag/2.0.0

Verilog-A in Qucs has not been finished.

Qucs-S supports Verilog-A models using Ngspice+OpenVAF link. ADMS+Qucsator support is kept in Qucs-S only for backward compatibility.
