[Quantlib-dev] how to improve the speed of developing the source code?

I want to modified some part of the library and maybe add some feature to
it in the future. But I found it's really slow to compile and debug the
project. I wondered, In what way I can improve development efficiency,
since currently I spend more time on waiting for it's building than to
debug with it?
