I can build QuantLib (v1.1 code and trunk code) in VC-2010-express IDE these 
days, and the release version also passes all 400 more tests.  So not so 
sure of your suggestion on modifying for MS nmake.  But I do remember quite 
a few warnings during the building process; did you refer to the warnings?
