Sticky movement on server

When you connect to remote (original) Quake2 server,
the character gets stuck in corners, and sometimes also
in clear area. There is no way to get away from it.
Usually even respawn (if someone kills you) doesn't help.
It seems that network layer gets saturated(?), as all
actions (like turning around) gets very slow. Even
respawning takes a long time.
This happens only with our quake2d.exe, no matter
which gamex86.dll you have.
