I use aux sends for effects like echo and reverb. In qtractor aux send are positioned pre fader, so I have full reverb send even when pulling the fader down. To make the aux send more versatile they should be post fader or (even better) have a button pre/post. That would improve qtractor's mixer greatly.

    Hi Holger,

FYI, I ran into this issue too and have been working around it by placing a plugin which controls gain (such as LADSPA 4-band parametric filter, which I often use anyway) before the Aux Send and using that, rather than the Mixer fader, to control the track's gain. It's been working fine for my needs.

I've just added a note on this to the How To I did earlier in the year (bottom of Chapter 6).

Yes, that's the way how I do it. Both in softsynth- and in audio-tracks I use a simple LASPA stereo amplifier plugin and use that.

How about making the fader routable?

This could be achieved by an extension of the volume fader to route its position to a plugin as its done with the automation. The selected plugin would in most cases an amp plugin be.

To make it perfect the led-chain would be routable/placeble, too.

To make it even more perfect the mixer strips would align in more than one row to avoid scrolling in the mixer.
