Hi Frank,
you should test a dual/multi-boot and make Arch Linux one of the
distributions.
I'm using my current Arch Linux install as my main desktop PC OS since
at least
[rocketmouse@archlinux ~]$ head -1 /var/log/pacman.log | cut -d\ -f1
[2013-02-17
I can't comment the current state of Qtractor on Arch Linux, because
since 2019 I do almost all of my audio work on an iPad Pro 3rd
generation.
However, Arch Linux is close to upstream, very stable and a major
distro. It's not a newbie-friendly distro, but IMO it's user-centric
approach is way more user-friendly, than the user-friendly approach of
other major distros. Since you are a Linux (audio) dino (and not a
newbie), I would be very surprised, if you would dislike Arch Linux.
Sure, Arch Linux has got its cons, too, but most likely you'll benefit
from its pros, than suffer from it cons.
2 Cents,
Ralf
