that would demand to read and parse the whole .mid file at once, and
not just the SMF header--something that i try to avoid ever since day
one :)

none of the above seems to be critical or top priority though, so i'll
ask you to file a ticket (sf.net) or an issue (github.com), if it
matters that much. jftr.
