Whenever I run Luminance HDR, the images seem to look like they only display a few colors, almost like an older printer output (hard to describe). None look like normal photographs, but more like what you would paint if you only had 5-10 colors of paint. A screenshot of what I am describing is on my Flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/annep1/16223371975/in/photostream/
I tried importing Adobe RGB tiffs, sRGB tiffs, and jpgs, but they all look like this on import. The middle exposure photo I took for this shot is the previous photo in my photostream, for comparison.
This is Luminance HDR 2.4.0 on Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10.1). Thank you!
Did you try to apply the auto white-balance first?
It's not so much a color balance issue...if you can look at the example photo, it's like it only has a few colors displayed (vs millions of colors). The original raw finals were white-balanced in Lightroom and exported as jpgs, and they look normal in Preview, Lightroom, and any other program I open them in. It only has this problem in Luminance.
You might be right: would you supply me the jpeg images? I would like to try to reproduce the bug, if possible. Thanks, Davide
Sure, here is the screenshot of what it looked like in Luminance. Does this help, or do you want the actual photo jpg as well?
No, I meant the actual images. I want to reproduce the problem on my machine/environment, so that I can tackle the source of the problem.
P.S. If you are afraid about the copyright, I am a photographer myself: I will NOT publish or use the images in any public website, it's just to fix the bug.
Ok, thank you for that assurance. I should be able get them to you probably later tonight or tomorrow, when I'm at the computer they are on. Thanks!
Davide,
I apologize, I forgot about sending these files to you, and I remembered again as I was about to try and use Luminance again. Please find the original files attached. If you are able to find out what's causing this, I'd really appreciate. I actually do get this error with every photo I've tried with the program, if that information helps with finding the cause. The first email I yesterday bounced back, so I'm going to try to send these again as a smaller file size.
Thanks! Anne
