Hi Ketil, Please check your point_list.txt file. For the command point, the RTU column must have the slave address (same value as SECONDARY_ADDRESS parameter from QTester104).

Hi! I have downloaded the OSHMI bundle and setup. Then disabled simulation mode and configured one of the circuit breakers in the KAW screen to route via RTU1. When I try to trip the circuit breaker from ON-> OFF, I see a grey log line of this messsage received by the QTester104, but it does not relay this command to the RTU. I do however see the GI request going to the RTU . Is there some config I have missed out which disables/prohibits the qtester104 protocol driver from actually sending the command...

I have never seen a system or RTU that make use of these ASDUs for parameter setting/activation. I guess that the working of those commands will vary from system to system. I mean some system may activate the parameter immediately, others may activete it by the P_AC_NA_1 ASDU. If you eventually learn something from this, please share it here so we may learn also as the usage in practice of those commands is kind of obscure.

I've checked for the packets in Wireshark and they seem to be returned fine in both versions. I'm not sure if this is just an output display issue or a deeper issue. In any case, just letting you know! Thanks for your help on OSHMI and QTester104! EDIT: Selecting "Point Mapping" worked, my mistake! Thank you, Ricardo!

  • ricardolo ricardolo posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

In version 1.25 you have to select "Point Mapping" to collect point values in the right panel. This was turned into an option because it can affect performance for very large quantities of data.

  • ricardolo ricardolo posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Derek, QTester104 version 1.25 process network packets much faster than previous versions, specially GI packets, maybe you haven't noticed them passing fast. The packects should be logged, try to unselect "Auto Scroll" option and look back in the log to see if packets are there, they are marked with cause 20.

Sir, Yes this simulator has both the reset process and test commands. Thanks once again for your valuable guidance. Regards, Nitish

  • ricardolo ricardolo posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Hello Nitish! I think that the RTU is not able to handle so many interrogations (1 per second is way too much). The link in I104 is somewhat abstracted as it is taken care by the TCP/IP stack. The reset process in I104 is an application level function and the reset link of I101 is link level, so they are different beasts. With the reset process command there is the option of general reset or just reset of events queue. There is also Test Command C_TS_TA_1 in I104 and it is also from application level....

Yes Nitish, your feedback is very important to me, please keep me updated with your results. DNP3 is also great for low bandwidth applications. It allows for interrogations by class, range of addresses, etc. I have also a DNP3 driver implemented as part of the OSHMI project. My Best Ricardo

  • ricardolo ricardolo posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Hi Nitish! 1. Yes, it is possible to configure the time period for interrogations in the qtester104.ini file. [RTU1] ... ; period in seconds for general interrogations (default=330) GI_PERIOD=660 ... The time should never be less (nor aproximate) than the time it takes for the slave to send all the data points for the interrogation. So, if the interrogation takes 10s to complete you should program a time superior to 20s. This way you can leave some time for the slave to send exception data. In systems...

How should one decide the GI interval time period? 2. i have come across a few implementations of IEC 104 where the master sends GI commands every second. Dear Beppe Ahhh I've found the problem: IEC Server expects the link address from master to be 0 (zero). So just put 0 in the Local Link Address of QTester104, then things will start working. I think also there is some problem with precision of float values in IEC Server as it is not returning exact values it receives for float commands type 50. Hope you can make it work now! Regards
