Doesn't seem to recognise the extension any more in
Windows. It also uninstalls the plugin when QT is
upgraded to 6.5.

I do have the same problem, i put the qtx file in
WINDOWS\system32\QuickTime, but nothing happens, i have
    version 6.5.
I 'll try to downgrade QT, do not know if it is possible

I don't know about you guys (or girls), but I did a fresh
install of QuickTime 6.5 and iTunes 4, and it works in both.
    I have Windows 2000.

I am using Quicktime 6.5 on MacOS 10.3.2, I can not open .ogg files in
Quicktime nor iTunes. Just tried latest version of the component to
same effect. QT says "could not open because of an error in the
program". ITunes 4.0.1 just spins the cursor for a second and ignores
my instruction to play the files. I know the .ogg files work because I
can play them in "Audacity", but that app bugs out on me- so I'd much
    prefer Quicktime!

    I'm using QuickTime 6.5.1 with Mac OS X 10.3.5 and I can't play .ogg
files in either QuickTime or iTunes. When I downloaded the Extension I
noticed that it is said to be compatible with an earlier version of
QuickTime - is this the problem?

Try changing the component file name to
    "QuickTimeOggVorbis.qtx" in the WINDOWS\system32\QuickTime
directory. I use Quicktime 6.5.2 and iTunes 4.7. No problems
    whatsoever.
