FWIW (ie, not very much) I'd also greatly like to see this
    happen.

FLAC has now joined foces with Xiph.org, so we'll probably
start to see more Ogg-Flac files (flac in a Ogg wrapper)
around. Of course, ideally a QT component would support both
    raw Flac and Ogg-Flac files.

Well, in any case its great you guys are sharing all of this
code. Makes me feel more inspired to have a go myself...

Sorry, meant to login before entering that last comment.
Adding this now so I get spammed if there's any action on this.

A flac Component would be amazing. I'm actually considering
doing it myself if someone doesn't get around to it. Is there a
tarball of the OggVorbis source that I can download, or just the
    CVS?

I'd like to vote for it too. PLEASE! I use the FLAC format for
archiving and if I can use it in QT-based apps then I can use it for
playout as well as archiving - perfect.

Really really want this. I might even want to pay for it. Blimey,
    did I just write that?

Any chance of seeing this one implemented?

    Thanks,

    Prog.
