This is the best note taking app out there, provided that: 1. you value your privacy but like to have your notes online (using an encrypted Nextcloud/Owncloud instance); 2. you are concerned about legacy, esoteric formats and enigmatic databases, and, as a consequence, plain text (markdown) is your preferred writing style; 3. you support open source projects; 4. cross-platform implementation is an asset (so you can recommend it to your friends); 5. the icing on the cake: you appreciate when a developer solves within hours an issue/bug/enhancement you report.
