Hello
Wayland will be "the facto" for important distros. I use it since about 4 months ago and works great (openSUSE + Plasma on Wayland). However, among the inevitable changes that Wayland implements, is the control of keyboard shortcuts. Now, it is Wayland that controls (from Plasma) to whom the key combinations are directed. This - from my point of view - is a good thing. Each application no longer has to manage the keyboard shortcuts.
Therefore, the shortcuts that were already defined in QMMP and are defined in Plasma's "Keyboard shortcuts" don't work in Wayland.
So far, so good, it works. However, QMMP does not expose the "volume up/down" triggers, so you can't control the volume of whatever QMMP is playing from the shortcuts.
Please add such events so that the keys can be assigned from Plasma.
I attached Clementine (I do not use it) and QMMP exposed triggers for shortcuts in Plasma.
Hello!
KDE and Qmmp have MPRIS support. Try to enable mpris plugin in qmmp first.
Then go to "shortcuts -> Media Controller" and set required hotkeys. See attached screenshots.

When I opened this ticket, I had enabled MPRIS. Your first screenshot shows "System settings -> Media controller", and that's not the option you should see. Take a look to my "Shortcuts - QMMP - Y1206_125340.webp" screenshot. That is the option you should look at. It's the global QMMP options, not the systems multimedia control options, which are the ones that correspond to your screenshot.
