I run Snow Leopard on my development system and it works nicely here, using Qt 
4.8.1. However, Qt 4.8.3 would be best on Mac OS X (but that's not relevant on 
Snow Leopard, or Lion, only on Mountain Lion it should make a difference).

I'm not absolutely sure which version of Qt David uses at the moment, but last 
time I checked he used Qt 4.8.1 for the Intel-only build, and Qt 4.7.4 for the 
universal build. BTW, which one did you download / install?
