This will hit the next Ubuntu release, when ever this will be. And it will be outdated as current version is 1.1.0. I hope the next Debian update is before 2.0.0 ;) No, let's talk seriously. I know it's not nice to spill you with sarcasm. However just try to understand my point. I get this kind of mail on a weekly base. No doubt, I like to hear wishes from users. But I do not want to waste my time with outdated versions on Ubuntu. If it comes to QLandkarte I do not favor any distribution. Every distribution has to maintain their binaries on their own and has to provide mechanisms to spread recent versions. I will not advertise any distribution, nor will I maintain binaries for any. That works pretty good. All distributions seem to know how to spread latest versions and their users seem to know how to get them. Except Ubuntu. That is strange, especially as Ubuntu claims to be the distribution for Linux noobs. Anyway, the above mentioned PPA is _the_ source for Ubuntu QLandkarte binaries. Roman does a wonderful job maintaining it. At this point: Thanks to all package maintainers! So, if you want your requests fixed show some gratitude for his work. Read the installation note on the page and add the PPA to your update manager. > > I've > already had too many years of writing it! I will add you to the editors list. Now, I really encourage you to update your version. Try it, test it. And if you are missing something I am happy to hear about it. Oliver |
