After installing qjackctl in my Manjaro partition (the ubuntu/kxstudio version is apparently outdated?), the first thing I did was attempt to disable the shiny glass effect, only to discover the option was missing. Looking at https://qjackctl.sourceforge.io/qjackctl-downloads.html, I found that the option was removed in 2018-05-21 - qjackctl-0.5.1.tar.gz.
I never liked the shiny glass effect since the first time I used the program, since I find that the white surface causes the top-left yellow text to lose contrast. Also I feel the glass effect is unfitting in a sans-serif display surrounded with Qt widgets... maybe shiny glass is usually found on sound equipment with large-pixel/segment LCD displays? idk how sound hardware works.
Is it possible to re-add the option? Apparently https://www.rncbc.org/drupal/comment/7900#comment-7900 also wanted it back?
option is now restored by[75d814] but hidden from the UI though; to turn it definitely off make sure in the configuration file (~/.config/rncbc.org/QjackCtl.conf) is stated like follows:
