Red backgrounds are rather mysterious really. The tooltip problem itself is because setTooltips() has been broken in the conversion. I'm not sure quite how it used to address a particular cell in the QGridWidget, but it doesn't work now. It seems curing this will require rewriting it to wean it off of Q3GridView and Q3ScrollView, which may or may not be worth the effort.
