i know that most developers don't hear from their users unless something's gone horribly wrong (it's happened all too much to me) so i thought i'd drop you a line with some positive news. i picked up a quickcam at costco today, and with a little elbow grease (and manual creation of /dev/video0 and friends) was able to get your driver working with relatively little trouble. my next trick is to get my web site's java servlet to process the images :)
thanks guys! great work.

I hope you don't think I'm being too forward, but could you share with us how (in the heck) you got it to work? Dirs created, compile/install steps, files modified, etc?
Thanks,
Dan
