Hi David,
I am college student, studying fluid dynamic, and I need QBlade to design tidal current turbine.
In final step, which is START SIMULATION, my simulation are stuck and I don't know why, because there's no warning or error. The simulation window content is like below.
Reading a 20x20 grid (20 m wide, 40 m to 60 m above ground) with a characterstic wind speed of
1.233 m/s. Full-field file for New Windfield. Generated by QBlade.
Processed 100 time steps of 1.65-Hz full-field data (60 seconds).
BlFract(1) must be 0.0.
Aborting FAST.
I only have one option, "CANCEL".
Even I have waited for it for an hour and nothing happen. In case you need to check my model, I attach it.
Thank you for your help.
just had a look into your file and found the problem. Your blade definition is incorrect. If you have a look at your blade data table in the blade design module you will find that the Pos1 of your blade is not zero in root coordinates. This causes the problem during the FAST simulation. I also found what was causing this. You probably changed the position of the blade stations in the "advanced blade design" view, from there the "Blade Hub Radius" was not properly updated. I will fix this for the new release. So you just need to fix your first blade position (by changing the blade hub radius, so it updates) and then you'll be fine. When you run your FAST simulations you might get into problems due to the high eigenfrequencies of your blade design. You can get around them by either decreasing the time step size of FAST, or by disabling the FlapDOF and EdgeDOF in the FAST simulation setup.
Regards
David

hi David
here is this link of blade file and images are attached , where i'm getting error and unable to find where i should change the Cl value which is > 3 ,please tell me where i can get that to change and run the Fast simulation ?
It looks like the 360° extraoplation didnt work properly in the regaion around 180°, try to extrapolate the polars again with slightly different parameters.

Hi David,
Blessed you. I'll fix it. Thanks in advance.
