First of all i wanted to really thank the creators of Q4OS. The OS really
signifies the "form follows function" mantra.
It just looks beautifull and very functional, i wish more desktop
environments were like this.
Only thing that prevents me from installing this on a network of computers
is the fact that there seems to be no source available? is this correct?
If not where could i find it? if so, why is that and is there a specific
license for this? i really hope Q4OS will stay with us for a long time, but
besides the security standpoint, people pulling bugs and fixes is the only
guarentee us users will have that Q4OS will live on for aslong as there is
atleast 1 develope maintaining it.
I think Q4OS will only grow in distrowatch leaderboards the more people
become disenfranchised with all these candy OS environments.
so yea, will there be source available or at the very least a security
audit?
Q4OS is based on Debian http://www.debian.org and Trinity https://www.trinitydesktop.org/ projects with it's own opensource licenses. We follow the upstream licenses, ofcourse. There are a few Q4OS specific packages, they will be licensed under GPL v2. Source codes of these packages will be released under the terms of the GPL v2. license.

Totally agree with the above comments as I think more people will flock to this distro as they become familiar with its ease of use and excellent performance. Its already up to 22 on Distrowatch approaching Ubuntu Mate another very nice distro. My guess if it gets a bit more press, maybe a few listings on sites like www.lxer.com, it could become a top 15 distro. Its already getting some great reviews and people switching both from Windows as well as better known distros.
