#8 Dictionary lookup - search

A way to search the dictionary or lookup words would be a great addition

Not sure what the exactly original submitter intended (hopefully he will clarify) it seems unlikely he meant a dictionary to check if words are valid, more likely he was hoping to lookup words and learn their meaning so as to better remember them in future. There are some very odd words in scrabble I wouldn't have even believed were English (zoftig?).

gdict might be a suitable backend to work with, I think most Gnome desktops are already include gdict as a panel applet.

alternatively you could (ab)use google search and pass in the search term
define:word
where word is the word you want to lookup

If you right click on a word on the board, it will give you refer you to the dictionary value for the word.

Thanks for that info. but if the feature I was looking for already exists but this report is still open this request must be about something slightly different or is it?

Not a big fan of needing to right click to find things, and if the reporter also missed this feature then perhaps it needs to be shown in the user interface in another more discoverable way.

i think this would be a great feature. this is a pc game, so people can look online anyways. also this will take care of word list errors, so if a player looks up the word in game then its in the game.
