[PyOpenGL-Users] software render

Hello,
  Is it possible to force opengl to switch from a hardware render mode to a
software render mode.  For example, I have some code that won't work on some
older hardware as some of the calls are to functions that aren't supported
on that card.  Is there a software driver that I can use in those cases
without much recoding?
