After pulling my hair out and getting a few more grey hair, this is  
what worked for me...


			[reply performSelector:@selector(seriesReceivedInArray:from:)  
withObject:dataSets withObject:self];

Where reply is an instance of a class my Python script  (self in  
python).
It should be noted that you can not pass integers or other atomic  
types the only thing that can be passed are objects.
Also this does not work:

[reply seriesReceivedInArray:dataSets from:self];

Which is almost understandable....
