Do you have an error like this in your xterm when you launch the program? freeglut (/home/hteran/tmp/programs/pymol/pymol.exe): Unable to create=20 direct context rendering for window 'PyMOL Viewer' This may hurt performance. If this is the case (it was my case) the solution is obscure, but it=20 works for me to launch the program through a kmenu quicklaunch app=20 created for pymol (I use KDE). I am curious, are you running linux=20 x86_64 distro? If yes, the problem might be with the location of the=20 32-bit libraries (pymol is precompiled for 32 bit).
