Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3788331 By: fabioz If you're using Eclipse 3.1, you should be using pydev 1.1.0 (which is the last version with 3.1 support). Pydev 1.2.0 supports Eclipse 3.2 (which should be final in about 2 weeks). Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3788123 By: nobody For some reason, the "Toggle Line Breakpoint" is disabled in the Debug perspective. I'm running Pydev on eclipse 3.1 The "Breakpoint" feature has always worked for me, but after after clicking on "Remove all Breakpoints" the Breakpoint options never became available again. I can still "Run" and "Debug" my code fine but I can't set Breakpoints I tried unstalling/installing Pydev with no success. Any Clues? Thanks! ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3787900 By: fabioz Actually it does (I think that the only bug related to Eclipse 3.2 in pydev 1.2.0 is the debugger) -- 1.0.6 has its own share of problems with Eclipse 3.2 ;-( Cheers, Fabio ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3787782 By: fabioz Ok, the problem might be Eclipse 3.2. I'm facing some dificulties because the debugger api changed and there are a couple of things to sort out (the variables view is also not showing any variables here). So, this might be the problem... I'm still working on porting pydev to 3.2, and this might be one of those issues (I still didn't test this in 3.2). Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3787670 By: nobody Fabio, I am trying to narrow the problem down, but so far I have not been able to determine why the step into is failing. It is still not working for me in PyDev version 1.2.0. I have tried cleaning my projects, but is there any other state that might be left around that could cause this? Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3787366 By: fabioz If you're using the extensions, the problem might be a memory leak when doing the analysis. This may happen when you do a full build. I comment about it at: http://pydev.blogspot.com/2006/06/pydev-12-shaping-up_09.html This is fixed for the new version (1.2.0), but only for eclipse 3.2. The current workaround would be turning off code-analysis when you create your project and turn it back on after the full build is done -- to work on deltas (or upgrade to eclipse 3.2 and get the latest version of pydev). Hi All, Pydev and Pydev Extensions 1.2.0 have been released Details on Pydev Extensions: http://www.fabioz.com/pydev Details on Pydev: http://pydev.sf.net Details on its development: http://pydev.blogspot.com Release Highlights in Pydev Extensions: ----------------------------------------------------------------- - This is the first version supporting Eclipse 3.2. - Interactive console: content is now changed so that blocks are closed with the interactive interpreter 'rules' (so that you don't have invalid syntax errors when passing code-blocks to the interactive console). - An action was added to the menu so that you can use the Open Declaration Quick-outline without needing focus on the pydev editor. Release Highlights in Pydev: ---------------------------------------------- - Eclipse 3.2 supported (and 3.1 support is now discontinued) - Lot's of optimizations to make pydev faster - Ctrl+Click now works with the find definition engine - Comments that start with #--- are shown in the outline - Attributes are shown in the outline - Parse errors are now shown (again) in the editor - Many other bugs fixed What is PyDev? --------------------------- PyDev is a plugin that enables users to use Eclipse for Python and Jython development -- making Eclipse a first class Python IDE -- It comes with many goodies such as code completion, syntax highlighting, syntax analysis, refactor, debug and many others. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3785978 By: fabioz The problem might be that you're adding a link to it (and not passing the actual interpreter). The plugin should work on linux, mac and windows. You might have something in your error log that makes things clearer (window->show view->other->PDE Runtime->Error log). If you are still unable to do it, please report back again. When I try to add the /usr/bin/python2.3 interpreter to the list "python interpreters" the plugin doesn't add it. There's an example where it says "e.g python.exe" is the plugin only for win32? Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3784818 By: fabioz Hi Richard... 1. Ok, now I got it ;-) 2. Yeap, I think you have to do it manually... But actually, if it is under the site-packages and your pythonpath is set, when you add the interpreter, it should automatically get it (even if it is in a pth file and not in the env)... That's why I asked about the cache... because if you install it after your interpreter is already configured, you have to remove it, press apply, and then add it again. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3784718 By: xyld Hi Fabio: Regarding fixes: the fixes were something I wasn't really counting on. I guess a "really nice to have" though would be something that tells you that code-analysis isn't switched on for a particular python file. It's not immediately obvious why things like "unused variable" don't work on a random python file :) Regarding folders in python path: I should explain that the module in question (lxml) has been installed from a python 'egg', as seems to be becoming more popular. The egg directories are in the python path, but they _don't_ have an __init__.py in them, because they're not the actual module directories, but rather just _contain_ the module directories. The 'egg' installer (easy-install) puts an easy-install.pth in the site-packages directory, which then adjusts the python path. The only interim solution I can think of is to setup, individually, all the 'eggs' I've installed. Many thanks, Richard. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
