actually there where some changes to it only available from the CVS, but 
they shouldnt be the problem. I succeed building it on a different 
machine some time ago (an old system on XP not available anymore) and it 
started fine, but some people reported back the same error when they 
downloaded this package. Maybe this has something to do with platforms...

I read about this in conjunction with wxPython and tried that already,
