Hi, Just joined the group, so I apologize if this has been covered already. Done some searching on Google and have not found an answer yet (that I know of)... I'm trying to 'optimize' the size of the 'dist' output of py2exe by removing encoding... Running py2exe-0.6.9.win32-py2.6 and using Python 2.6.1 using the following setup.py I got from the py2exe website: from distutils.core import setup import py2exe import sys; sys.argv.append('py2exe') py2exe_options = dict( ascii=True, # Exclude encodings excludes=['_ssl', # Exclude _ssl 'pyreadline', 'difflib', 'doctest', 'locale', 'optparse', 'pickle', 'calendar'], # Exclude standard library dll_excludes=['msvcr71.dll'], # Exclude msvcr71 compressed=True, # Compress library.zip ) setup(name='<Name>', version='1.0', description='<Description>', author='Ofer Schwarz', console=['script.py'], options={'py2exe': py2exe_options}, ) When I compile my script, the entire encoding library are still compiled. Based on what I've read, the 'ascii=True' should mute that operation... Any clue what I'm doing wrong???? -Joe http://www.damtravel.com |
