"list fromsymbol" takes a symbol and outputs a list of character codes that constitute it. list-help.pd and x_list.c are modified.

Hi Chris -
I'm right now wavering between the idea of having "list fromsymbol" (and yes,
I'd want to add "tosymbol") and that of going with something more like
what "text tolist" and "text fromlist" do, i.e., actually format an
entire list as ascii with space delimiters between atoms, and escape commas/
semisbackslashes.
Then "text" itself would be able to spit out ascii lists that would
correspond directly to how it saves to a file.
That would open up other capabilities, in particular one someone needed
recently: to be able to parse numbers that were being sent in ASCII over a
serial line. But the downside would be that symbols containing d separator
characters would need some kind of escaping.
Perhaps both things are needed...?
Two small patches for fromsymbol/tosymbol.
The first fixes Roman Haefeli's negative character number bug. Tested with the symbol "säbre".
The second [minor nit fix] stops "list" help patch from popping open the fromsymbol/tosymbol help patch when you first open it.
applied, thanks.
