Pulp has come a long way in a short time. The project is nearing it's first Beta release of Pulp. Here's a few of the features to be included in the first Beta release:
Theming engine
Audio Disk burning (and session save)
Apple Ipod sync-ability (playlists only)
For the beta release there will be source code as well as binaries for the Win32 and Fedora Core 5 x86 platforms. Check out the new screenshots!
There is now planned support for Apple's OSX (10.3 -10.4). This includes both the PPC based macs and the intel macs.
Pulp's interface will depend Qt 4.2 instead of Qt version 4.1.4.
Drag-N-Drop is now fully implemented.
Pulp now has a 10-band Equalizer. Anyone who knows any genre preset frequences are encouraged to contact the project admin.
Pulp's UI has now changed. There's a new screenshot the demostrates the changes. As development continues, the interface will change some more. Here's a list of the upcoming changes:
"CD cover" area will become the "CD burner Interface"
Shuffle and Repeat check boxes will go under the "CD burner Interface"
Pulp is now offically in the beta stage of development. Supported audio/video playback formats are as follows:
AUDIO
aiff, flac, ogg vorbis, mp3, and wma.
VIDEO
mpeg1/2, mp4, wmv and avi.
Keep in mind that Pulp is still very young and far from finished. Here's a sneak peak at major Pulp features to come: CDDB access, burn CD-R/RW, Apple iPod support and DVD read support.
note: wma and wmv are currently only avaliable on the Windows platform.
The outage of Sourceforge's CVS servers have delayed the applying of new code to our repository. However, Pulp still continues to grow rapidly in it's development. Some key changes to Pulp include: FLAC audio format is now officially supported and Pulp officially supports both ALSA and OSS sound architectures on the Linux platform. Screenshots to show progress in Pulp's development will be posted shortly.
