In the log above there is a 12-second timestamp gap between the last sync (S) and the lstn_reset. What is syslog showing during those 12 seconds? What architecture and OS are you running this on?

running ptpdv2 2.2.0 it does a lstn_reset everytime offset is less than 5usec
