I am using PTPD2.3.1rc1 .its a latest version of ptp . I am working on RHEL 6.0 and 3.12.8 kernel in it. i have setup a master and slave on two pcs by ptpd2 daemon.

but i am not able to synchronize the slave with my master clock. Slave clock is always 1.5 millisecond to 500us behind the master clock.

offset from master varies a great range and never comes in sub microsecond range. I am getting delay of 1.5 milli to 600 us.How sub microsecond sync can be achieve?

What minimal PTP configuration file should i use to get the sync in microsecond range?

Proper synchronization depends on a lot of factors. What is the network
      layout? Is this with
a crossover cable or through a hub? What configuration are you using?
      Can you show
us some log output from the daemon?

      Best,
      George
