When selecting a task from the tree, add a textbox to filter possible matches. That way, if you have a big tree of tasks you can quickly change.

or save the last used tasks and add them into a seperat menu.
Not sure if its what you wanted but I added a filterbox to the taskslog, not sure how I can get it included (if the author even wants it)
