Hi, I successfully compiled psyco on x86_64 host with 2 cpu intel Xeon 3GHz with hyperthreading (virtually 4 cpus) using 32bit mode (= using "gcc -m32" instead of "gcc") because 64bit mode didn't compiled (see c/codegen.h). Python too was (obiviously) recompiled in 32bit mode, but after testing performaces I noticed that using psyco SLOWED DOWN execution time! details: ---- time python bpnn.py ... 6.849u 0.006s 0:06.85 99.8% 0+0k 0+0io 0pf+0w ---- ---- time python bpnn_no_psyco.py ... 3.019u 0.013s 0:03.03 99.6% 0+0k 0+0io 0pf+0w ---- If I use psyco in my python code (basically numeric-python stuff) it is 10% slower on x86_64 and 3x faster on my old x86_32...??why?? How can I use psyco on x86_64 and gain some speed? I mean using 32bit mode. Thanks in advance, Emanuele |
