my experiment consist of multiple sessions, which I specify in my 1st level GLM.
As for 1st level contrasts specification, I understand that I don't need to replicate the contrast vector to account for the number of sessions. It seems to me that PsPM concatenates condition-specific onsets from different sessions and models different sessions using extra regressors.
Is that correct?

If you have different conditions per session, it is a good idea to use Review Model to check the names of the regressors in the model. That way you can be sure you construct the contrast vector correctly.

exactly - so this is slightly different from the way SPM works.
