Even though the process for the project is largely based on published OpenUP, there are several aspects of tailoring it for using SourceForge's infrastructure that only the current project manager knows. If he no longer is able to continue working on the project, this may lead to halting the project.

Mitigate: Ensure process customizations and specialized procedures are well documented so that another person be able to take on the role if necessary. Another option is to rotate role assignments among all team members so that knowledge is shared, even if not documented in detail.
