Love, LOVE the contact sheet, but it keeps crashing CS3. I was using it on the beta version and on CS2 without any problems, and now that I have integrated it into my workflow (I'm a wedding photographer), I'm having problems. When I go to File > Automate > Contact Sheet X, PS will hang for a second and then close.
Any ideas? I've tried the beta 4 version and the 1.2 version.

Well, here's what I see when comparing our systems:
1) I'm on a MacMini so I have fewer CPUs than you.
2) I'm on OSX 1.4.9, you're on 10.4.8
3) We're on exactly the same PSCS3 build.
If you can, do an update on OSX and see if something in the last set of fixes from Apple takes care of this problem.
If you are still having problems, try to run some of the scripts that come with CS3, including Image Processor.
After this, you'll probably need to file a bug report with Adobe. Keep me posted and I see if I can think of something else.

Is there a reason that the script will not rotate .jpeg files according to the orientation of the camera (portrait or landscape)? I know it will with raw files and it would be nice if it also worked on .jpegs (as contact sheet II does).

I am having this same issue. It is especially apparent when doing 1 image per page. It almost looks like the picture is only @ 72DPI and then blown up to fill the CSX page which I have set for 300DPI

Well, here's what I see when comparing our systems:
1) I'm on a MacMini so I have fewer CPUs than you.
2) I'm on OSX 1.4.9, you're on 10.4.8
3) We're on exactly the same PSCS3 build.
If you can, do an update on OSX and see if something in the last set of fixes from Apple takes care of this problem.
If you are still having problems, try to run some of the scripts that come with CS3, including Image Processor.
After this, you'll probably need to file a bug report with Adobe. Keep me posted and I see if I can think of something else.

When I use Photoshop's contact sheet, the images are sharp at the small size. When I use CSX, the images are blurry and poor quality. Is there a setting I am not using correctly?

Firstly, a fantastic script, thank you.
Is there a reason that the script will not rotate .jpeg files according to the orientation of the camera (portrait or landscape)? I know it will with raw files and it would be nice if it also worked on .jpegs (as contact sheet II does).

I am having this same issue. It is especially apparent when doing 1 image per page. It almost looks like the picture is only @ 72DPI and then blown up to fill the CSX page which I have set for 300DPI
I just realized that using Basic mode rather than HP2 mode fixes the blurry looking images. There is a night and day difference in quality.
