Is anyone successfully running Props with
'props_setkey('config.url.static', TRUE);' in your config.php?  I'm
having trouble with this, and the more I go through the code, the more
it looks like it's been broke for a while.  We have a new SEO push here.

Just wondering if anyone out there is still using Props or know of any sites still using Props?
I am desperately trying to add video capability to our site but can for the life of me get it to work, not sure if the video player script needs to be updated, I have tried up dating the (jw) player.swf file but not much luck.
If anyone is still using props and can share how they have got video on their site, I'd love to hear from you.
Or if anyone could spare some time for some paid work, just to get the video capability running and implement a recaptcha module to make sure they are human sign-ups, please get in touch.

Hi Aaron,
It might appear to be a PROPS setting because PROPS intercepts PHP warnings and presents them within the template, I don't have the source in front of me to confirm though.

A good place to start would be to ensure that your php.ini is set to allow uploads larger than 2MB.
Other than that, I believe general PROPS settings are made in webroot/../config.php

This is can be definined in php.ini - in php configuration file on the webserver.

If it's your server you can change it, if it's a shared hosting you need to check with your hosting company.

There are two PHP settings which matter: max_upload_size and max_post_size.
 When handling large image uploads you may also run into memory issues, so
you will have to increase memory_limit.  All of those settings can be
changed via either php.ini or within a .htaccess file in the root of the
public_html folder.  You can verify that you were successful in increasing
the limits by creating a .php script which calls phpinfo(), then opening
that in your browser.  It will show you details on your current php config.

Increasing the above limits should fix your problem.  If it doesn't, note
that some Apache installations also limit the size of POST data.  That is
sort of rare, but if it turns out to be the case you'll have to dig through
the Apache configs to increase it.

If you hace access to modify the php.ini on your server, modify the value post_max_size, after this modification restart your webserver.

IIRC, PHP now has native FFMPEG support so you no longer need to call it
via the command line.  PROPS should probably be updated to use the native

Hi props-general,

Just echoing what I said in an email to Aaron, I'd love to tackle this
problem and add reCaptcha support to Props, but I have too many things
happening in my free time right now. I'm just not using Props enough at
work or personally to justify extending it's features when I have other
things that are (currently) more important or pressing to do.

I'd still like to take this on, I just haven't had time sadly.

Thanks for your help with the URL, incase anyone else was needing it, I think I have that part working though slightly modified,

and it returns the link

Not sure if that is going to create problems further down the track, maybe you might have some suggestions again Ray?

You'd need to edit the requesthandler.php code. It's not a terribly
difficult edit, but there are a few changes that should be made to
incorporate reCAPTCHA the "PROPS way."

I'll try to give it a look when I'm done with work tonight, it might
be of use to others as well.

Hi Ray,

Thanks for your help, that's great, the url should be easy enough now that I know where to look.

As for the reCAPTCHA, as I said I'm not a coder, so I'm just fumbling my way through with this but at least now I have an idea of where I should be looking.  Would I need to put the reCAPTCHA code in the 'requesthandler.php' or would I just need to call the 'requesthandler.php' somehow in the reCAPTCHA script if the challenge was validated correctly?

For reCAPTCHA, you'd need to handle the form submission in the requesthandler.php file for the displaystory module (/props-root-dir/modules/displaystory/requesthandler.php)

It should be handled in the 'displaystory-email' case of the switch statement (after the comment "Trap 'command' request parameter").
