Hi All, Is anyone successfully running Props with 'props_setkey('config.url.static', TRUE);' in your config.php? I'm having trouble with this, and the more I go through the code, the more it looks like it's been broke for a while. We have a new SEO push here. Thanks, Aaron Coil |

Hi is anyone interested in some PAID support / upgrades to my Props project? Please get in touch and I'll let you know what I'm after so you can offer a price. Don't think it's a big job for anyone with scripting knowledge (ie, not me) and knowledge of Props. Hope to hear from you soon. |

Hi again, Just wondering if anyone out there is still using Props or know of any sites still using Props? I am desperately trying to add video capability to our site but can for the life of me get it to work, not sure if the video player script needs to be updated, I have tried up dating the (jw) player.swf file but not much luck. If anyone is still using props and can share how they have got video on their site, I'd love to hear from you. Or if anyone could spare some time for some paid work, just to get the video capability running and implement a recaptcha module to make sure they are human sign-ups, please get in touch. Cheers. |

There are two PHP settings which matter: max_upload_size and max_post_size. When handling large image uploads you may also run into memory issues, so you will have to increase memory_limit. All of those settings can be changed via either php.ini or within a .htaccess file in the root of the public_html folder. You can verify that you were successful in increasing the limits by creating a .php script which calls phpinfo(), then opening that in your browser. It will show you details on your current php config. Increasing the above limits should fix your problem. If it doesn't, note that some Apache installations also limit the size of POST data. That is sort of rare, but if it turns out to be the case you'll have to dig through the Apache configs to increase it. Aaron, The best solution should be a change of hosting provider like Godaddy. Godaddy permits the exec() function...! Hi Derrick, Thanks for your reply, I have been in contact with my host but they won't allow the exec() function for security reasons. I have been looking around the net and the exec() function seems to be a pretty common but I can't seem to find any solution or work around and I have NO idea where to even start to rewrite any of the code either. > From: pro...@li... > Subject: Props-general Digest, Vol 35, Issue 1 > To: pro...@li... > Date: Tue, 14 Aug 2012 22:15:33 +0000 > > Send Props-general mailing list submissions to > pro...@li... > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/props-general > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > pro...@li... > > You can reach the person managing the list at > pro...@li... > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of Props-general digest..." > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. reCaptcha (Aaron Thomas) > 2. The warning which stands out to the most to me is this line: *exec() has been disabled for security reasons . *PROPS calls the command-line FFMPEG utility to retrieve information about the video file you uploaded. * * Check your server config and see if there is a way to enable the PHP exec() function. It's probably in the master php.ini file for the server. IIRC, PHP now has native FFMPEG support so you no longer need to call it via the command line. PROPS should probably be updated to use the native support. On Tue, Aug 14, 2012 at 1:11 PM, Aaron Thomas <wo...@ho...> wrote: > Hi again, > > Hoping someone can please help me out. Hi again, Hoping someone can please help me out. I am trying to upload video files to Props but all I ever keep getting is errors that the "File type is not supported". The only one that has been any different is when trying to upload a .flv file and then I get the following error: PHP NOTICE in lib/media.php on line 738Description: Undefined variable: statusPHP WARNING in lib/media.php on line 738Description: exec() has been disabled for security reasonsPHP NOTICE in lib/media.php on line 757Description: Undefined variable: statusMESSAGE WARNING in lib/media.php on line 292Description: This video file format is not supported. Anyone able to help or offer any suggestions? Thanks again |

Hi props-general, Just echoing what I said in an email to Aaron, I'd love to tackle this problem and add reCaptcha support to Props, but I have too many things happening in my free time right now. I'm just not using Props enough at work or personally to justify extending it's features when I have other things that are (currently) more important or pressing to do. I'd still like to take this on, I just haven't had time sadly. Hi Ray, Thanks for your help with the URL, incase anyone else was needing it, I think I have that part working though slightly modified, <li><a href="{gen_url cmd='displaysection§ion_id=14'}">Community News</a></li> and it returns the link www....com/?format=html&cmd=displaysection%26section_id%3D14 Not sure if that is going to create problems further down the track, maybe you might have some suggestions again Ray? Been funbling around with the reCAPTCHA in the /requesthandler.php but not getting anywhere with that one yet, think I'll have to wait for Ray Date: Mon, 6 Feb 2012 15:24:54 -0500 Subject: Re: [Props-general] Couple of (hopefully) quick questions From: ray...@he... Check out the {gen_url} tag, for example: <li><a href="{gen_url cmd="displaysection" section_id='14'}">Community News</a></li> I don't have time to test this out myself, but that should add the correct format parameter to the URL depending on the format of the initial request. If not, try reading /props-root-dir/modules/globaltags/tags/gen_url.php and /props-root-dir/lib/url.php to discern the correct tag syntax. For reCAPTCHA, you'd need to handle the form submission in the requesthandler.php file for the displaystory module (/props-root-dir/modules/displaystory/requesthandler.php) It should be handled in the 'displaystory-email' case of the switch statement (after the comment "Trap 'command' request parameter"). You'd need to edit the requesthandler.php code. It's not a terribly difficult edit, but there are a few changes that should be made to incorporate reCAPTCHA the "PROPS way." I'll try to give it a look when I'm done with work tonight, it might be of use to others as well. Hi Ray, Thanks for your help, that's great, the url should be easy enough now that I know where to look. As for the reCAPTCHA, as I said I'm not a coder, so I'm just fumbling my way through with this but at least now I have an idea of where I should be looking. Would I need to put the reCAPTCHA code in the 'requesthandler.php' or would I just need to call the 'requesthandler.php' somehow in the reCAPTCHA script if the challenge was validated correctly? Thanks again. Date: Mon, 6 Feb 2012 15:24:54 -0500 Subject: Re: [Props-general] Couple of (hopefully) quick questions From: ray...@he... To: wo...@ho... CC: pro...@li...; pro...@li... Hi all, I just have to quick questions. Firstly, how to create url links to sections. I have created a menu and I need to set up the links to the various sections. What I am currently using is: <li><a href="?cmd=displaysection§ion_id=14&format=html">Community News</a></li> Problem is, if trying to link to a rss feed or using the 'preview' clicking the links returns to the current published edition. I know you can use the {sectionlist} to build a menu but I don't want all the sections listed and I've also got different hiarachy structures between the Props and the menu I've created. Is there a way to ask Props to generate the url for section_id 14 and still allow for the format=rss or preview generated tags in the url?
