There is no zoom level in the gantt view that will show between ~21 days and ~16 weeks. I have a project that is a little over 30 days long. I feel like there should be intermediary zoom levels.
It looks like each "zoom level" is a different layout in display and also for printing. Perhaps it would be easiest to add a scaling level as well, so that each zoom level can be displayed with some scaling factor (maybe 0.7 to 0.8??) as well as normally. It may not matter all that much if the scaled display looks sparse.
I have to write reports for people who don't have time to read the detailed schedule, but who feel "well informed" if they can glance at a Gantt chart, ignore the reliability or completeness of the underlying data, and assure themselves they know if the project is on schedule or not. This kind of function is legitimate for reporting (it is what the customer wants!), though anathema to actual project planning.

Agree. There can be a lot of wasted screen/print space with the predined views, when zooming out to see the entire project. I'd like a zoom to fit the entire project duration. This could probably be extended to tasks too. i.e. to fit a task duration.
