The system needs an easy way to build. Currently there
are scripts to do some of the work. These are
scattered around and most do not work.

This request is to put one makefile at the top level
that will recompile the system.

We should use Ant, a better build tool than make or
makefiles, which in conjunction with the shell or other
mechanisms could be used to do automated builds as well.

Most folks are using eclipse. I don't know if it's working
well for everyone though.
