Hi,
I've been running a Project Open service for about a week now and I scheduled some daily cronjob to create postgres dumps. I'm now trying from a fresh install restore from one of these backups.
Firstly, am I write in thinking you needto go through the introduction wizard before you are able to get to the backup restore option in the Admins dropdown? Not a big deal, just don't know if there is a quicker way.
My main issue is that browsing to the Admin -> Backup page and trying to upload my sql dump via the Upload Backup button doesn't work. Instead I get a "Gah. your tab just crashed" error in FireFox. I tried looking in the ~/log/error.log but nothing relavent seems to be recorded. Any ideas what could be going wrong or where I can find more details on the crash (also no errors in the FireFox developer console).
I tried to get around this problem by clicking the New Backup button and then after deleting that file manually from the file system in /web/projop/filestorage/backup/ and replacing it with my previous backup (naming it as the newly created one I just deleted). This did seem to work and allowed me to restore. However, not all users seemed to be sucessfullly restored so makes me think it was only a partial restore of the database.
Would appriciate any help with this,
Thanks,
James

You need to restore with exactly the same version of ]po[ that you used initially. Otherwise this would be an upgrade, which (in case of upgrade to V5.0) requires a support contract, because the upgrade scripts are not public anymore.
You didn't specify the version of the installer, so I can't diagnose why the backup paage doesn't work. But I'm sure there is no "Gah." in any of ]po[ error messages...
You don't need a backup page for restore. Please search for "restore" and "backup" on www.project-open.com. ]po[ backup is just a PostgreSQL dump.
Again, you have to use the same version of ]po[ as you had before.
Good luck
