I like the approach suggested by Michael below:

1) Export into XML, translate offline, reimport
2) Adjust online, where a context is given. Error messages that are not that
apparent could be cleared up in the list.

Please let us know if there is an ability to work with translatable ]po[
content offline to maintain consistency and speed up the process.

Hello Dmitry, Frank and the rest of avid translators,

I agree with Dmitry about the offline translation. I'm used to work with a
TM (in my case DejaVu, although I will try Frank's TinyTM soon, too - I
promise), which is only possible offline. On the other hand I understand the
concerns of the Project-Open team, mainly because there is a high number of
terms that should be translated in a given context (I the past I have
translated several menu items and UI messages in ]PO[ wrong, too by editing
the XML-exports without seeing the context).

I think the main point of Dmitry's remarks is that we should be able to see
the project's scope, because:
1) We don't know whether we will actually cover all the existing/installed
packages or miss something
2) There are quite a few messages (informational, warnings, errors) that are
not being shown until you trigger the corresponding event.

My suggestion is to work in two stages:
1) Export into XML, translate offline, reimport
2) Adjust online, where a context is given. Error messages that are not that
apparent could be cleared up in the list.

I remember having exported and imported messages in the past (4 years ago),
but some things might have changed meanwhile. Frank, can you give us a
helping hand?
