My mail addresses:

1: firstname.lastname@provider-dsl.net
2: firstname-lastname@provider-dsl.net
3: name@provider.net

Only the first one is declared as private address (with the full string).
If i send a mail with my private address all works as expected - but if I use the second address privateID also displays warning messages.

error console:
privateID: eMailID personal
personalID=firstname.lastname@provider-dsl.net
sendEmail=firstname-lastname@provider-dsl.net
pIDconflict=info@office.com

The differnce in the addresses "." and "-" seems to be ignored, and privateID thinks the second address is the private address. Maybe there is a problem in the string comparing function.

Only if I use the third adddress - which is not similar whith the declared private address all works fine.

error console:
privateID: eMailID not personal
personalID=firstname.lastname@provider-dsl.net
sendEmail=name@provider.net

Do you have any suggestions - or is it a bug?

Thanks for your help

    As you expected: a problem in js match, indexOf works in this case.
    Would you please test the attached version. Hopefully it works (this is a new version, which unfortunately crashs tb in some cases).

    If you don't want to try this version you could change "boolArrayMatch" in pID.js in your extensions folder in your profile: the following should work.

    boolArrayMatch: function (toSearch, searchIn)
    {
    for(i = 0; i < toSearch.length; i++)
    {
    if (searchIn.toString().indexOf(toSearch[i]) != -1)
    return true;
    }
    return false;
    },
    File Added: privateID.xpi

    Tanks for the fast reply.

    Both versions now work well with similar addresses.
    But with your attached version I have a new problem with shared Outlook Express contacts.
    The old version was able to handle the shared contacts very well.

    The Error Message is something like:

    Address book not found
    moz-aboutlookdirectory://oe/AAAAAMCRrdNRnc8RpKkAqgBH-qQB

    The sharing procedure is described in MozillaZine:
    kb.mozillazine.org/Using_Outlook_and_OE_contacts_with_Thunderbird_or_Mozilla_Mail

    Otherwise I have no issues with the promisingly new version.

    Regards
    Ingo
