Hello, We've been using the PCIPPC-2 boards with ppcboot quite a bit here, and I've seen both of those problems (or at least very simaler things). The serial EEPROM bug is quite nasty, at the moment the only way of avioding it is to modify the board with a different serial eeprom, and then re program it (i can send you the details of this mod if you like). We've had some of our boards not start on a cold reset, we found that if you then do a reset by grounding the PRST line on the pci backplane it then boots.
