No problem David. I'll concretize and coordinate my plans before I make 
any svn changes.  I'll try to have a look on #postfixadmin during the 
days next week.

Needless to say that I have a lot of experience working on open source 
projects. I was a committer to Typo3 in the early days of that project 
and by now I commit to some OS projects in the Java World (I'm working 
as a Java Software Engineer at Mercedes-Benz Bank)

For the last couple (?) of years, development has mostly been done by
myself and Christian - with the aid patches provided by various kind

The code is GNU GPL. I admit that this isn't the best PHP code I can write.

Keep in mind thay this is a sort of "mail server manager" that I wrote to handle
some basic operations (ldap directory, amavisd-new, policyd).

Unpack in a web directory, edit include/config.php and it SHOULD work :)

Unfortunately, include/config.php is the only file with english comments, anyway
feel free to ask.

Some remarks about the content:

amavis_destinatari.php  recipients table manager
amavis_mittenti.php  senders table manager
amavis_policy.php  policy editor, requires a 16:9 screen :) :) :)
amavis_quarantena.php   quarantine manager

ldap_*.php  poor man's (or blonde woman) ldap editor  :)
policyd_*.php  policyd (1.x) manager

major differences? presumably amavis is dead, and everyone uses
amavis-new?

sysadmin level, since mailzu seems rather abandoned, but at user interface level

I've been busy merging patches recently, and I think we're at the
point of releasing 2.3beta ... and hopefully then 2.3. I'll probably
release 2.3beta (.debs and .tar.gz) tomorrow (Friday) assuming I get
time around my son's 1st birthday party etc. Then I'll probably wait a
week, and then release 2.3.


I'm fairly confident that all the MySQL upgrade issues have been fixed
(all due to character sets)... which was perhaps the biggest thing
holding back the next release. 


Future wise ... I'm personally interested in merging in Amavis stuff
(see postvisadmin.sf.net ... which shares similarities at the DB
level, but not much at the code level; I've emailed the author and
he appears happy for a merge to take place).

Wiza (IRC) appears to be busy converting the code base to use the Zend 
framework and Doctrine. Hopefully this will make the project more
buzzword compliant, and also secure - and I can always hope - others
will join in it's development. Additionally I can hope that it'll lead
to development of an XMLRPC interface for e.g. vacations/password
changing/forwarding etc as done by the squirrelmail and roundcube
plugins.

Anyway, my initial thoughts are, if I get to merge Amavis stuff - this
will be after 2.3 is released. Hopefully it'll warrant a 3.0 release.

Ah. I thought I'd fixed the Squirrelmail plugin - so it should behave
properly. Have you tried updating it from svn?

Thanks for the script; I've had a _really_ brief look at what's changed,
( diff -b -w -u vacation.pl vacation.pl.new).

Firstly, what version of the vacation.pl script did you make changes to?
It doesn't seem to be what's in SVN/trunk, so I'm assuming it's perhaps 2.1?


Secondly, what problem(s) were you trying to solve? Why didn't it work
for you - and what do your changes achieve?

Try :

mysqldump -u whatever -ppassword postfix > whatever.sql
gzip whatever.sql

then attach whatever.sql.gz to me.

Change 'postfix' to the name of your database. Note the above include
all data, if you wish to exclude the data, use the --no-data option.

I am a mysql novice. I know how to dump the whole db and restore it but I do
not know how to dump the schema. I can give you information from both old and
new as the old one is still in production and the new one is obviously semi
b0rked.

FWIW the old db is running on mysql-4.1.22-2.el4 the new one is running on
mysql-5.0.45-7.el5. I do not know if that matters or not but I thought I would
include it in case it does.

I'm using mailzu. Together with a plugin for squirelmail this makes my
users very happy with the spam+virus scan setup.

I used this guide as base for my setup:

The final setup is a bit different, but with that guide you can make
everything work.

Hi,

Has anyone here used either Postvisadmin or Mailzu? I had a look at
Postvisadmin (both are web UIs to handle amavis+postfix etc). 
Postvisadmin seems to be based (a little) on Postfixadmin's DB structure, 
which makes me wonder if it's worth merging them together or not.

Anyway, has anyone used either? Mailzu appears to be stagnant (with a
possible fork (mailzu-ng) underway) and Postvisadmin seems to be quite
new... (and lacking screenshots)
