There is a PAM module for RADIUS authentication, maybe that is what you want? 
Also most RADIUS server programs have a program named "radtest" (or something 
similar) that takes a user-name and password on the command line and checks 
it against a RADIUS server (can be used from shell scripts).

What has HTTP got to do with RADIUS?

Assignment of IPv6 prefixes is on my to-do list.  Do you know of a good open 
source RADIUS server with full IPv6 support?  Writing both client and server 
support for this is a lot of work...
