#52 today() function for calculated fields

I'd really like to be able to filter my todo list on
whether items are past due, and in general to display
the number of days I have left to finish a task. If
there were a today() function for calculated fields I
could do this.

The downside of course is that any calculated field
that contained today() would have to be recalculated at
least once a day, assuming that they aren't already
being recalculated as needed, and that somebody else
might then ask for a now() function that would in
principle require second-by-second updates.

I was going to ask the same thing.
Perhaps with a boolean answer from a condition: if date(column) =/!=//<=/>= today() then yes/no
Could call it a condition-field.
